Where it started

I built the group I couldn't find.

I'd started a business and was stuck. With so many decisions to make and no clear idea which path was right, it was easy to become doubtful and freeze. I looked for a community where I could talk to people going through the same thing, and couldn't find one.

So I started Dreamers & Builders in Zagreb, Croatia: an in-person meetup where people building something could talk honestly about their challenges in small groups. Some left with new connections, some with the motivation to keep going, and some with a decision they'd been putting off finally made.

Where it's going

This shouldn't depend on one room, once or twice a month. Our long-term vision: anyone, anywhere, can jump online and talk to someone within minutes, at the small price of a coffee.

After the call

A call can be the start of something.

After the call, you can each choose to stay in touch. If you both say yes, you get each other's contact details, and what happens next is up to you two.

Questions

What happens on the call?

You talk for 30 minutes about what you're each building, where you're stuck and something that helped you lately. We send three starter questions with the invite. There's no script and nobody is selling anything. If you're both enjoying it, keep going: the room stays open as long as you like.

What if nobody matches me?

Nothing happens and nothing is charged. You'll get an e-mail when your times have passed, and you can pick new ones. Tip: the booking page shows where other people are waiting.

What if my match doesn't confirm?

What you paid becomes a credit for your next match. If you never get a chat, you can have it refunded. Credits from packs are valid for 3 months from your last purchase.

Which video app do we use?

We create a private video room for every chat. It opens in your browser, with nothing to install. The room is only for your chat and closes a day after it. A call guide walks you both through the 30 minutes, with questions if you get stuck.

What if my match is a few steps behind me?

Still a good call. Explaining what you've learned sharpens your own thinking, and their questions show you how far you've come. Next time you might be the one a few steps behind.

Can we stay in touch after the call?

Yes, if you both want to. After the call we ask each of you whether you'd like to stay in touch. If you both say yes, you'll each get the other's contact details by e-mail, and from there you're free to keep talking, work together or meet in person.

Who sees my profile?

Only the person you're matched with, and our team when approving it. They see your first name and country when you're matched, and your photo and profile answers once you've both confirmed. Your match only gets your e-mail address and link after the call, and only if you both choose to stay in touch.

Why are profiles reviewed?

To keep this a place for people genuinely building something: no spam, no sales pitches, no scams. Our team approves each new profile, usually within a day. You can pick times while you wait.

What if someone doesn't show up?

After each call you can tell us in one click. We look at every report, and people who don't show up repeatedly can't book again.

Can I meet people in person?

Yes, in Zagreb. The meetup is free and runs regularly: Dreamers & Builders on Meetup.
